Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition that occurs in flare-ups. The rapid appearance of red spots on the face is typical. The cause of rosacea is unknown, but hereditary predisposition appears to play a role.
However, there are factors that cause and/or worsen the condition (varies from person to person):
- hot drinks, strong herbs, sunlight and sauna baths,
- medicines containing cortisone, both tablets and creams,
- drinking alcohol.
Solutions:
Try to identify triggering factors and avoid sun exposure. If necessary, use a sunscreen with a high protection factor (factor 30 or higher). Biotylab creams contain zinc, which is good against flare-ups of acne rosacea.
Tinted sunscreen that can be used winter and summer:

Stay out of the wind, do not go in a sauna or under a (very) hot shower and adjust your diet if certain foods trigger the redness. Only use natural cosmetics that cannot clog your pores (without talc). There are camouflage creams that do not irritate the skin (Absolution, Ere Perez).
